FOBS - Friends of Broughton School FOBS is not just a parents' association (now more commonly known as a Home School Association), but is ope n to anyone interested in supporting the school and its work. The group provides the link between the school, the village and surrounding area that it serves.
The role of FOBS has many facets. It provides a social environment for introducing new parents to the school and helps to foster community spirit both within the school and within its catchment area.
These links are reinforced by FOBS' fundraising activities, many of which involve and provide fun for the children, families and friends. Often these events involve the whole village, not just the school. FOBS provides the liaison that extends the school out into the village and the community that it serves.
The Committee is elected at the AGM held at the beginning of the school year and consists of parents, teachers and, if possible, one or two representatives of the village community. Recent projects have included funding of our new ICT infrastructure, pantomime trips and new equipment for our infant classes. Events organised nd cake sales.by FOBS include the traditional Summer fete, car wash, Easter egg hunt, end of year barbeque a |
